Genesis 1 reflection
Genesis chapter 1 tells us that there is a God. Not only is there a God, He is the one who creates everything and makes us. (Genesis 1:1, 27) He creates us in His image, and wants us to subdue the earth and rules over all living creatures. (Genesis 1:28) Notice God uses the word, subdue the earth. Subdue means having to struggle to fight to conquer the earth. It is not something that is done without any efforts on our part. To subdue means having to fight, in order to conquer the world. God expects us to work to subdue the world. God also wants us to be fruitful and multiply in numbers. (Genesis 1:28) In other words, God expects us to have children. How can we be fruitful and multiply unless we have children. Yet, today, many of us are choosing not to have children because we consider them to be a burden. We sin when we are married and yet do not want children, because we disobey God's commandments to be fruitful and multiply. We need to see children as blessings and obey this comm...
